I have done a few zines in the past and am getting back into doing them.

I was wondering if it would be any use to people to do a little zine of madeit sellers...

Basically what I am thinking is a half size zine with a single page per seller with a little kinda store profile (write up your own profile I will edit etc). I would put it together using Scribus (free DTP software) and then print and send copies to people to include in their orders or to give to friends, interested people, leave in places artsy ppl hang out etc.

It would just be very simple black and white stapled together etc.

The only thing I would ask in return is that you send me a stamp so I can post them to you (postage would be a dollar I thinks, but I would let you know once they are done.)

*fav materials
*contact name of shop owner

I have a bit of a headache and my brain is not functioning 100% I am sure there are more essentials...

and then maybe some extra info like what inspires you etc.

I'd love to be in on it. BUT. Being slack that I am I haven't actually set up my shop yet. I wanted to make a few more things to start with a good impression. What time frame are we talking? If I get my act together in time I'd love to be in.

Knowing me and zines it could take about 4 weeks all up (most of my major zines took a looootttt longer). I plan to start next week...

I would like to have about 6-10 shops to include too, so anyone else wants in...

Okay, I have been thinking about a title for the zine...

I had a really good one, but I forgot it (cause I didnt write it straight down)...

So I have these...

"I Made It: a small directory of sellers on madeit.com.au"

or

"A Handful of Handmade : a small directory of sellers on madeit.com.au"

Any other title suggestions...which do y'alls prefers?

Yep...basically a small run mini mag, indi...mine are always black and white...variable size...this one is "half size" so fairly small...half size is half A5...

I was totally confusing myself last night trying to figure out the page lay out...cause its half size but I work on an A4 page, so you have to figure out numbering etc. I need to make a mock up...usually I am good at it but I havent done one in a while and I am feeling a bit sick at the mo, that is my excuse.

Well I now have 2 profiles, so I really think I should do mine...I am going to give the sewing a break tomorrow so I will do some work on the zine and do a mock up and maybe take a piccy to put on the flickr group.

I have started putting things together and there is now a pic of title page up on flickr in the group for the swap.

Samm no worries, I sorta did my profile today, but I am not happy with it. I never get a chance to do work on fri or sat as I do "go to" work (hate it, tho I have this sat off to go to sounfwave festival, but it is mean to be 35c on sat and that will suck). I also have "go to" work 5 days next week as other staff are away, so I imagine I wont get a lot done. But hopefull by end of the following week (end of first week of march) I will have made some progress and be almost done, if not done.
