1. What band do you still love as much now as you did when you were 15?
I adore Lorena McKinnent – The Mask and the Mirror, and I love the Cult.

2. What is something your Mum taught you how to make?
My mother taught me how to sew clothes , my sister taught me how to put on makeup. My father taught me how to bang nails into wood. My brother taught me how to make leather bracelets, and my grandmother taught my how to make roses out of play dough! I also have a lasting memory of my Aunt’s workshop where she used to create teddy bears, clothes etc. It was the nicest, messiest, room I have ever seen; full of fabric, paints, sewing machines. Big long tables where women would get together to have ‘cuppas’ and talk and stitch all day long.

3. Have you always had the same mobile phone number?
No I constantly loose Mobile phones, as well as watches, and spotlight cards. It is unexplainable. I think I have some sort of Bermuda triangle issues.

4. What do you like and also dislike about where you live?
I like the fact that my children go to a small school and it is a close knit community. I hate the fact that the Brisbane Art Gallery is at least 8 hours away from me (by road).

5. What is one of your favourite Tv shows right now?
I always love watching Nigella Lawson – as she is the most gorgeous, confident, sexy woman inside and out. I hardly watch tv, at night after I get my daughters to bed, I head straight to my workshop…Beloved makes me coffee and watches Star Trek!

6. What did you have for dinner last night?
Yorkshire Puddings (made by beloved).

1. What band do you still love as much now as you did when you were 15?

Not a band, but is a musical act...Tori Amos...though ADP was not so good.

2. What is something your Mum taught you how to make?

Crotched (sp?) Blankets.

3. Have you always had the same mobile phone number?

Annalaura claims she was a late starter...I got my first mob phone end of 2006...I hate them, but I do rely on it these days. Had the same no. the whole time, it is my partners extra phone...

4. What do you like and also dislike about where you live?

I love brisbane in general, dont want to live anywhere else, though I wish Tokyo were closer so I could go there every other weekend...This exact location...our neighbours kinda suck, and its close to a road that a lot of trucks use...otherwise its excellente!

5. What is one of your favourite Tv shows right now?

Ummn, I dont watch much tele, but I like Dexter (though I have the DVDs), and Family Guy, Ellen's talk show is okay, and I like the How To channel sometimes.

6. What did you have for dinner last night?

ummn...mexican style meatloaf...monday we had pizza on pita breads, home made...I love pizza, it is the best!

No i got my first phone when i was ten and so have had around 4 numbers in 4 years!

The first time I read that you were only 14 I was in absolute awe. My sister is the same age as you and she is no where near as mature and intelligent as you are. You're a pretty amazing 14 year old. Your parents must be proud :D

14! Wowies. I just stopped teaching 14 year olds last year, so I'm a total dorky teacher in your eyes probably!

I love The Amazing Race and Survivor. We download them rather than wait for Channel 9 and 7 to play them, they are really behind and sometimes change time slots of miss weeks.

1.What band do you still love as when you were 16?

Well don't laugh but my girlfriend bought me an AC/DC concert ticket for my 16th birthday and occasionally now I hop in the closet and listen to some of their songs.

2.What was something your mum taught you to make.

Mum taught me to knit, sew and cook (she is an amazing cook.) I'm sure there is lots more. In fact everytime I do something I think she probably taught me that.

3.Have you always had the same mobile number?

No way I loose everything. I have had my latest number though for about 5 years. I am learning to be responsible.;)

4.What do you like or dislike about where you live?

I love the view. We can see the whole Surfers skyline from our balcony but I don't love the 1970s wallpaper or the tatty carpet. I wish the house was mine and not rented it has such great potential.

5.What is one of your fav TV shows.

At the moment it is Underbelly. I grew up in Melbourne and actually went to school with some of them. It reminds me how far I've come as a person to get away from all that crap.(not that I was ever involved in anything like that just had the displeasure to grow up without much money)

6. What did you eat for dinner last night.

Pork medallions on a bed of sweet potato mash and a side salad. YUM

1.What band do you still love as when you were 16?
AC/Dc

2.What was something your mum taught you to make
hmmm - nothing I can think of at the moment. She's not the making type.

3.Have you always had the same mobile number?
I don't use a mobile. I keep one for long car trips in case the car breaks down but other than that don't touch it.

4.What do you like or dislike about where you live?
I don't like where I live at all anymore. You know when you've been somewhere for a while and like it, then all of a sudden it's got nothing to offer anymore? We're moving in two years when my daughter finishes school. Get happy butterflys in tummy thinking about it.

5.What is one of your fav TV shows
That would be Life on Mars. Underbelly also. LOL - Roberta reminds me of myself.

6. What did you eat for dinner last night.
I made a fish pie - in a mornay sauce. It was very good and pretty damn posh even though it was from The Biggest Loser Cookbook.

OK Cat so I'm figuring that you and I must be about the same age seeing as we have the same taste in a few things (by the way my taste in music has mellowed over the years). I also have a son thats finishing school in a couple of years and daughter finishing in three years. When they finish school I would love to travel (with my husband of course). Need to save alot more money though. By the way I'm 37 if you don't want to devulge your age I completely understand.

Jane

lol - yes I noticed the similarities. No, I'm not shy about my age which is 44. (Although I don't ever believe that is at all possible.) My kids are 20, 18, 16.

1. What band do you still love as much now as you did when you were 15?
I can't think of any at all. I only really got into music when I was about 16. I loved Silverchair, but I've gone off them quite a bit since then.

2. What is something your Mum taught you how to make?
Bechamel sauce! She knows how to sew but hasn't really done it since I can remember. I taught myself how to sew. She can be pretty crafty but spends all of her time shopping or doing house related things or watching tv. It's a shame.

3. Have you always had the same mobile phone number?
I think so.

4. What do you like and also dislike about where you live?
I love Melbourne for its culture.. Basically anything you're interested in you can find a bunch of people or other things that are interested in it too. But I wish we could afford somewhere bigger and nicer to live.

5. What is one of your favourite Tv shows right now?
Gossip Girl.. though I'm ashamed to admit it!

6. What did you have for dinner last night?
A big fat vegie burger with all the trimmings.

1. What band do you still love as much now as you did when you were 15? Jon English, and he's coming to our local hotel in 21 sleeps!!! It's even walking distance!

2. What is something your Mum taught you how to make?
Curried sausages and tuna casserole. She also taught me to sew, and had a fabric shop for many years.

3. Have you always had the same mobile phone number?
Yep

4. What do you like and also dislike about where you live?
I love that we are 10 minutes drive to some of Australias best known beaches, and only 5 minutes walk to our shopping centre that has heaps of shops and two supermarkets. I hate that we live on a busy road, and our house layout is all wrong!

5. What is one of your favourite Tv shows right now?
Postcards.

6. What did you have for dinner last night?
BBQ with 3 Scottish backpackers, they are old school friends of my daughters boyfriend, so we put on an Aussie BBQ for them LOL.

Good to see I'm not the only "mature aged" seller on here :D

You can write as much or as little as you want to.

1. What band do you still love as much now as you did when you were 15?
Pearl Jam. For a while there I thought they'd lost the X factor but then in 2006 they came out with a new album and a tour that absolutely knocked my socks off. Same goes for Bon Jovi - although I never lacked faith in Jon :D

2. What is something your Mum taught you how to make?
A roast dinner. She wasn't much of an arty/crafty Mum - I danced from age 3 on stage and as soon as I was able to, I was sewing my own sequins!!

3. Have you always had the same mobile phone number?
No I changed it about 9 years ago when I changed carrier, before the ability to portal your number came in. Mind you, I changed ONE digit!!

4. What do you like and also dislike about where you live?
I love the area - we live in the suburb I grew up in and I would stay here forever if I could afford to. What I dislike is the house prices

5. What is one of your favourite Tv shows right now?
Project Runway. Even my hubby is getting into it.

6. What did you have for dinner last night?
I had dinner at Moonee Valley last night at the terrace cafe. My usual toasted sanga and chips.

****

I would just like to say that I too loved and STILL love Alanis Morrisette and AC/DC! I slept the night outside Essendon Footy Club in 1996 to get front row tickets for Alanis Morrisette. And as for AC/DC, I am so sick of being looked down on because I love rocking out to AccaDacca! I say we should unite and fight for our right to be Aussie bogans and proud!! :D

And Annalaura, we LOVE Gordon Ramsay in this house too, he's a DUDE.

One more thing - zebracrossing, I have bookmarked your blog - I cannot believe you are 14. So talented - I am envious that I am twice your age and nowhere near so insightful!

Great to read more answers, I missed it when I clicked New Posts I think!

I have not seen G-Ra for a while and I've stopped saying f%#^ and S#&*$ and plonker all the time. Gareth and I downloaded them and watched them all really really quickly. So the ones on air now are ones we have seen.

I've totally fallen in love with Star Trek Voyager, but we finished it. I have not seen season 1-3 or maybe part of 4 and I'm wondering if I should go back and watch it. But with no Seven it will make me sad. She was my favourite.

We are currently watching the X Files on DVD. I love that show.

1. What band do you still love as much now as you did when you were 15?
The Pogues. I am still just as ridiculed for this fact also but I just can't help it. They're linked to far too many of my childhood memories

2. What is something your Mum taught you how to make?
Try as she might, Mum failed at teaching me to use a sewing machine. She did however, teach me how to make her killer potato bake... Mmmm... here come the cravings!!

3. Have you always had the same mobile phone number?
I sure have. Much easier that way

4. What do you like and also dislike about where you live?
I have only lived in this area for 4 months but I like it a lot, much closer to the city than where I grew up, but still nice & peaceful & away from traffic. I wish I wasn't living in a household of indoor smokers though!

5. What is one of your favourite Tv shows right now?
Skins!! Back on again as of last night... Love it!!!

6. What did you have for dinner last night?
I had my last night of work at my old job & we had stocktake so by the time I got home with a killer toothache, all I ate was chocolate gelato to numb my mouth!!!
