What do you use to pack up orders??

Is it recycled? Tissue paper? Something else?

I have recently been sending things primarily in magazine pages from a range of different "home" magazines. I try to pick out a nice page for the exterior piece and then just use whatever for interior of layers. My primary concern is that the item be packed safe, and magazine pages are quite strong. Sometime I wrap an outer layer of tissue but most the time i dont.

So are you particularly wanting your parcel to be packaged all nice, or do you prefer it simple, and as long as it well protected it doesnt matter.

For me I just want to be shown that the seller actually put in effort to make sure the package was secure and safe, and I dont particular want any new materials used except for maybe a ziplock bag to keep the item safe from moisture.

Wrapping is something I really enjoy doing! I love detail in wrapping, the materials themselves can be recyeled or otherwise, it is the effort that goes into it that makes a difference for me! I also enjoy including something that is a little unexpected for an extra sweet surprise!

Emma, yeah, I feel like your shop is one that would really benefit from the ultra fab packing, your shop has that aesthetic.

Something I would like to do is wrap things in plain cotton with a stencil or stamp in fabric ink on the top. I dont think it would be too costly, but it would be time consuming and I just dont have the time.

I am the freight girl at work and pack up a huge range of things from blowmolds (giant xmas characters made of hollow plastic, think milk bottles), to fitz and floyd collectible ceramics. And we dont get any complaints about my packing techniques. Usually the blowmolds go into a suitable box, but often I wrap them in garbage bags and extra shredded paper (it turns out about $10 cheaper too). I think this is why I dont fuss much and just want the item protected, clearly addressed, with a return address, etc.

As my items are perfume, I have to take extra precaution in packaging. That means a lot of shredded paper and bubble wrap. At the same time, I want it to look nice as I believe first impressions count.

At this stage I'm sourcing new boxes. If anyone knows of any good company, would greatly appreciate your suggestion!

All recycled from me. I have everyone I know collecting boxes and bubble wrap. Since my things are tiles they have to be well padded. I put the tissue around the tiles but then it gets ugly. Newspaper, packing tape and used bubble wrap. But they've made it as far as London and WashingtonDC ok, so I guess it's doing the job.
