video file converter - recommendations wanted

I need to convert a Nokia video (mp4 file) into something compatible with Window Movie Maker (wmv file). From my google search there are free programs you can download. I'm nervous I'll be adding a virus to my PC. Any one know of a reliable site or program that they've used to do this? Format Factory is the one I'm tempted to try.

Never mind... I googled Format Factory reviews and found a download of it offered on CNET that promised no spyware was attached. I felt confident with CNET and downloaded it. Worked a treat. I feel a bit like when I took my first product photo. It was a photo, but it wasn't necessarily any good. Maybe a do-over is in order, or lots of editing...some practise may be in order.
