Is is Brown owls or Night owls? Y know that group y'all seem to know about at Meet me at Mikes? Or is it really a brownie thing?!?!?!? Sounds like fun, I'd love to find out more details about what you do there and stuff!

I went as a Tweenie, which is casual membership, although all the memberships have been filled up I think.

The night I went to was about embroidery and we all had a little own to stitch up. There were about 15 or so other woman there and it was just a chance to have a cup of tea and talk to like minded people and do some stitching. I had a great time and really enjoyed the night. I love meeting other crafty/arty people and having a good chat about stuff.

Obviously not living in Melbourne, I will never have the chance to join. But I thought I should start up a similar style of thing, at my house! Y'know like, invite people over for coffee, and set a theme for the evening like stiching, or paper craft and just have a really good chat. (Still sounds like modern version of CWA to me, but with a catchier name teehee) My great grandmother would be proud! I'm starting to think though, that I may just well be the ONLY QLD woman who's not obsessed with sport or rodeo's! sigh

We've got a sewing group going in Horsham. It's a group of mums that meet about every 2 weeks to stitch and get on with some making, away from the little people. We take it in turns meeting at each others houses and sometimes organise a venue, the back room of the patchwork shop, the church hall so we can have a whole day of it. Everyone seems to do different stuff, some patchwork, some knit, some design clothes, cards etc. Its a great group to chat about crafty stuff, the hubbies and the kids. We all help each other and learn lots of new stuff. We just invite people along that we think may be interested.
You should get one going Emmarose.
