Hi All
I am sure that it is not just myself that works full time along with making crafts to place on madeit.com.au.
One thing I would love to do is sell my products at a local market in Melbourne.. however I just don't have the time nor can i make the commitment.. However I have this idea and would love to hear anyones thoughts/comments..
Say myself and two or three other Melbourne crafters put a stall together and rotate when we run the store.. ie this would mean a commitment of once a month rather than every weekend..
This way the stall cost can be shared and our product will be seen weekly !
I know winter is on its way so maybe just a thought to look into over summer.
I have not yet been to the shirts and skirts market at the Abbottsford Convent but this is indoors and could be a start ?
Anyone interested?
Comments ??

I'm interested. The only issue I could see with doing something like this, is making sure the items all fit in with each other in terms of aesthetic. It might not look very appealing to a customer to see all sorts of different styles of items in the one stall... does that make sense?

I think the shirt and skirt is outside, but there is another market that runs inside at the same time? I'm not sure, I know Bridget from Bridbird did the inside on. Also, the shirt and skirt runs once a month.

Looks like there is some interest.
I am thinking maybe we look at it for summer - I will look into it and keep everyone up to date!
So keep crafting away!!

Anyone still interested?
I am looking to do something similar. The thought of doing a market stall on my own is quite daunting and I don't have anyone to help me "man" the stall, it would be me on my own all day.
So I would be interested in this if we could have 2 people working at the stall during whatever market we choose. It would be good to have some moral support and someone to cover you for toilet breaks etc.

do you all have insurance? I've been looking into it, and I've been thinking about finding a couple of like-minded people to share with. e.g with 4 people it would be about $100 a year, and we'd all be covered for markets.
Does anyone else do this as part of a group? I'd be interested in hearing how it all works on the ground. If you are a part of a group insurance policy, what name do you use, do you all have to do the same the markets, can individuals go out by themselves?
cheers,
cindy.
Hi, I am new to madeit :) and think this is a great idea. I would love to be part of this as it would allow me to display some of my stuff (as I haven't got too many to fill a table..) and I would love to meet like-minded crafties :)

Cindy I don't have insurance yet because I haven't done a market before. I am not sure if we would be allowed to share insurance.

It looks like you might be able to share insurance, there is some useful information in this thread:
