How do I remove this annoying Facebook Share icon from my blog!

I've been trying to remove the Facebook like badge that is appearing on every page of my blog under the posts and after having gone into the modify CSS and template pages and post template area I still can't get rid of it. Can anybody pleae tell me how to do it? Thanks

not sure... when you view your blog in 'design' mode. Does it have its own little html gadget box at the bottom, or in the middle?

I'm not sure if you're using Blogger's new interface or not. In the new interface, if you click on Layout in your dashboard and then click on Edit in the Blog Posts box, you should see a list of things you can check or uncheck - make sure the box next to "show share buttons" is unchecked, and then save this. This should remove it from all your posts.
If you're using the old interface, I think you got the same thing by going into design and then page elements.

Actually, I've just had another look at your blog, and I think you've got some sort of social plugin that's different from Blogger's usual share buttons, so my above suggestion may not help. Sorry! If it doesn't, try posting the question in the Blogger forum. Hopefully someone there who is a bit more computer savvy than me will know. I'm still learning how to use Blogger myself!

I am just setting up my blog too. If you want to remove the Facebook like badge altogether, go to 'Design' and you will come up with the Add and Arrange Design Element page. You will need select 'edit' for the Facebook gadget. Then you can select to remove it. I hope this helps.

Thanks for all of your suggestions but the page element does not appear on my blog in design mode (where you can add / delete or arrage page elements) and there is no special html code in my blog post template either. I think that Little Dear Creations may be correct in that this might be something that will need removing via a different method. I'll mention this on the Blogger forum and see how I go and let you all know!

Hi Sputnikplaywear,

I have a solution.

1. Go into your DASHBOARD and click DESIGN.

2. You'll now see your design page layout. From there, click EDIT within the BLOG POST. A pop-up configiration should appear now.

3. Within pop-up, scroll down and you should see the SHOW SHARE BUTTON option. Just make sure this is un-ticked!

4. Lastly, click SAVE at the bottom.


This action ought to shut it off the share icon. Hope this helps. =)

Thank for that, Spoonful and Little Deer, it works a treat. I must say I have been everywhere else in the template looking at things and had completely overlooked the blog post area. Very sneaky of them, I think.

Is it an added gadget maybe? Look in the Layout view and see if there is a box under the one marked "blog posts".
