My inspiration comes from my love of Japanese fabrics and also Western vintage items. The outcome is a juxtaposition piece that seems to fit nicely together.

I sourced a Japanese fabric that had bright colours so it can stand out against the black tshirt colour. The fabric has a grainy cloth texture and beautiful hand printed images. I looked into the finer details for the Western side, stitching on a vintage button and lace. I made sure the embellishments had a tint of gold to make the yellow colours on the fabrics really stand out.

Anna Laura (http://www.madeit.com.au/madeit/supplierdetail.asp?rsSupplierID=289)
The theme for my t-shirt is migration and it depicts a flock of birds flying to a warmer climate. To create my t-shirt started with a hand cut screen-print using white ink on blue cotton drill. I used a silhouette for both the birds and the droplet shape allowing the viewer to add in other details and this has been a common theme in my artworks. The screen-print was then appliquéd onto my t-shirt with fusible webbing and blue thread.
