Hi

I'm organising our school's fete and my MIL is running the craft stall. I am after any ideas of things that we could make, that are quick and relatively cheap (and sell well). We do get some donations from parents, but we need more ideas. Aside from organising the fete, I am also hoping to get together a craft group, so we can make some of these things.

Thanks

Hi Lisa,

I once made and sold some little teddy bear brooches on a craft stall and they sold really well. There are some teddies on my website at the moment(...although my current ones are quite little compared to the ones I sold on the stall). All you need is some felt, thread, stuffing and safety pins. Beads are optional for the eyes (you could always use a french knot stitch), but the beads are quite cheap anyway.

Good luck with the stall.

Mystery jars! Put in things like lace, safety pins, buttons, lollies, pipe cleaners, yarn, teabags, soap, craft kits - anything you can think of. Small jars or yoghurt containers are a good size. Number each jar, sell lucky numbers and they take the matching jar. It's like a lucky dip.
Pencils or pens decorated with pipe cleaners and goggly eyes sell well, and you can sell them for a small price. Try football colours if you think that would sell. A 50 cent price tag will bring the kids back again and again as they want to spend their money.
I've sold button flowers for 50 cents each, and had kids come back wanting to pay money to make their own! That was fun.

I love the idea of make their own felt flowers, etc... this option for making cupcakes was most popular on the masterchef show. It does mean extra volunteers. Plaster painting is another easy one for the kids.

Love to hear how you go- good on you for organising the fete!!!
