Hi, I've arrived here from Etsy and just wondering how people's sales are over here. On Etsy you can stickybeak at everyone's stats :) but here I haven't quite worked out how to browse around or see what is selling.
Can someone help a newbie!
Thanks

Hi Flower Press... I was just reading a post from you on Etsy in a thread about aussie sales to aussies.
I have only sold one thing through madeit so far. I have been meaning to post a thread like this.
I havent really promoted a lot yet though...
What I like here is that my items are not instantly lost. And although this site isnt as use friendly as Etsy (yet) I would prefer to sell through here to an Aussie audience.

Hi TheLittleOrchard,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm not sure how this site works yet. Any tips?
Is there a way to see if anyone is looking at your work? I am dipping my toe until I work out the best way to do things :-)

I think the more you use Madeit, the easier it gets...
There are a lot of suggestion floating out there as to how to improve this site so I think if we give it time we should all do well here.
Unfortunately there are no view numbers, hopefully this is on the "to do" list for the near future. It would be great to know how many people see your things.
I tend to do a mass add (5 items) once a fortnight as I find it works best for me. We dont need to compete to be seen here yet.

Hi there,
I have sold a handful of items through Madeit but the same on etsy. But I am a firm sticker to Madeit as I think its a great avenue for people to buy locally.
It would be great to broaden out Madeit with all the beautiful Australian artisans out there, similar to www.toggle.co.nz. They have such a wide variety of crafty items and I know we have it all here! Maybe we we 'invite a friend' there is some benefit??

Hi, another newbie here.
Have just set up shop, Not quite sure I got the header right, but I hope to list tommorrow and see how it goes..I agree, its hard to see what things are selling so you can do the market research so to speak... Maybe that will be added later on?::)

I've had no sales so far on madeit... I've had 15 sales on etsy without any major promoting or marketing (other than myspace and forums).

Yeah... I have had 9 sales on Etsy...all without particularly promoting my stuff, but I do like to relist and that has got me at least 5 of those sales.
I really do believe that this site will be excellent for us, it just needs more people viewing it.

so far on madeit i've had around 5 sales. I haven't tried Etsy yet but i'm thinking about setting up a shop there soon too.
You can never have too many shops :D
I've been really happy with my sales, 13 scince the beginning of october. I find blogging and myspaceing help a lot, other than that I think im just lucky :)

I definately think blogging, making comments on other people's blogs/sites help. Just need to get established...but think that madeit and other sites are pretty quiet at the moment!
I think Madeit is a great venue to use as a 'shopping' cart. So link to it from other sites as a venue that sells your goods. Most of my sales have come from people from my website that would prefer to shop in Australian dollars rather then US (Etsy).
I won't say how many sales I've had, but I've had enough to make this worthwhile. The great thing about having items listed is that customers will also contact you about other things they may be interested in that won't necessarily be in your store. Sound friendly in your shop announcement and let people know if you are interested in custom orders/wholesale etc. and you'll get people contacting you.
